Crochet 101

Date(s): Wednesday, June 14, 21, and 28 from 6-8 PM
Get hooked into the world of crochet! Learning to crochet is fun and quick with bulky wool and a big hook! Over the course of three lessons, students will learn and practice basic crochet stitches while making a selection of very practical potholders! Students will mix things up a bit in the final lesson by working with cotton yarn and a smaller hook to create a classic dishcloth, all while learning the fundamentals of pattern and chart reading! Whether you are an absolute beginner or just want to brush up on your skills, this fun class is for you! All supplies are included and no experience is necessary! Stuck on a project you just can't seem to finish? Is there a pattern you have always wanted to try but felt you needed help? Never fear, our in-house knitting Goddess Maureen is here! She is ready to be your personal knitting guru, answer your questions, and generally make you get that project done. Knit 201: The Fab Felted Bowl!

You've mastered all the basics of knitting back and forth - what's next? Knitting in the round, of course! Let our knit whiz Donna shop you everything you need to know about knitting with a circular needle in this stress-free workshop! Learn how to cast on and join in the round, how to decrease, and how to finish your bowl - techniques that will help you knit hats, cowls, and more! Personalize your bowl with snazzy beads or wool roving, and learn how to deliberately felt your knits in the wash! image_medium2-11 All supplies are included! Basic knitting skills necessary: students should know how to cast on, knit, purl, and bind off. Knit 301: Two-at-a-Time Toe Up Socks!

Date(s): Sunday, July 23 and August 6 from 12:30-3:30 PM
Super light and oh so portable, socks are the perfect summertime knit project! In this class you will learn everything you need to know to make a wicked pair of socks - from cast-on to bind-off! This class is a great introduction to toe-up and two-at-a-time sock knitting! pastedImage pastedImage-2 Intermediate knitting experience is necessary: students should already be comfortable ribbing, increasing, decreasing, and working in the round. They should be able to recognize the wrong and right sides of their work, and should know which direction to knit in if they pick up their work in the middle of a round. Materials are not included - students will enjoy a 15% discount on all supplies they purchase for the class! Please contact the shop for a complete supply list. There is a two week break between each lesson - there will be no class on Sunday, July 30. Please note: Student cancellations less than 2 weeks prior to the class will not be refunded.
