Crochet 101

Date(s): Wednesday, March 1, 8, and 15 from 6-8 PM
Learning to crochet is fun and quick with bulky wool and a big hook! Over the course of three lessons, students will learn and practice basic crochet stitches while making a selection of very practical potholders! Students will mix things up a bit in the final lesson by working with cotton yarn and a smaller hook to create a classic dishcloth, all while learning the fundamentals of pattern and chart reading! Whether you are an absolute beginner or just want to brush up on your skills, this fun class is for you! All supplies are included and no experience is necessary! Crochet 201: Hat, Hat, Hat!

Date(s): Friday, March 10 and 17 from 6-8 PM
Now that you understand the basics of crochet, it's time to show your hook who’s boss! Make some quick and cozy hats, all while learning how to crochet in the round! Change your hook, change your stitch, change your yarn size, and create a completely different hat.  You'll also learn how to play with sizing, so you can make hats for the whole family! IMG_5094 All materials are included and basic crochet skills are necessary: students should have completed several simple projects and be comfortable with basic crochet stitches. Knit 201: Cables

Date(s): Tuesday, March 7, 14, and 21 from 7-8:30
Know all the basics, and ready to tackle something new? Join Jess for three weeks of cable-y goodness and leave with a fabulous cowl AND the confidence to add cables to hats, mittens, scarves, and more! All supplies are included (with the exception of buttons). Students should already know how to cast on, bind off, knit, purl, and be comfortable with ribbing. This class does not cover chart reading - students will be working from written instructions. cable Please note: Student cancellations less than 2 weeks prior to the class will not be refunded. As of Feb 7, class hours have been extended to 7-9 PM each night.

Project Class

Date(s): Thursday, March 9, 16, 23, and 30 from 1-3 PM
Stuck on a project you just can't seem to finish? Is there a pattern you have always wanted to try but felt you needed help? Never fear, our in-house knitting Goddess Maureen is here! She is ready to be your personal knitting guru, answer your questions, and generally make you get that project done. Basic knitting experience is required. PLEASE NOTE: March's Project class is only 4 weeks long. There will be no class on March 2! Please note: Student cancellations less than 2 weeks prior to the class will not be refunded.

Socks, Socks, Socks

Date(s): Thursday, March 16, 23, and 30 from 6-8 PM
In this class you will make a pair of ankle socks. You will learn how to knit on double pointed needles, turn a heel, pick up gusset stitches, and graft a toe using Kitchener stitch. Intermediate knitting experience is necessary: students should know how to alternate from knit to purl in the same row, be comfortable with knitting in the round, and have knit decreases before. A great pattern for improving your pattern reading skills! Materials are included.
