Design Fundamentals with Maureen Ballagh - Embroidery Sampler

Date(s): June 18th, 2017, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Budding designers - this is the class for you! Gain a better understanding and feel for elements and principles of design with local fibre artist Maureen Ballagh! Learn all about dots, lines, patterns, balance, and positive and negative shapes in this encouraging and inspiring environment! Refresh your embroidery skills with the running stitch, back stitch, stem stitch, satin stitch, and french knots! Improve your ability to visualize and express and apply these elements to your own embroidery sampler. These design skills will enhance any art or craft practice! image-wabi-design-fundamentals-embroidery Linen fabric, pearl cotton, and needle are included. Students are expected to bring their own small wooden embroidery hoop with screw (5-6 inches) and a tiny screwdriver (for use with hoop). Students are encouraged to bring a pair of sharp scissors if they already own them. Only very basic experience is necessary - students only need to know how to thread a needle! Please note: Student cancellations less than 2 weeks prior to the class will not be refunded.
