Learn to dye with natural materials in this beginner dyeing class. We will use extracts and locally sourced dye materials to produce a range of colours. We will also discuss mordanting, safe practices and sustainable havesting. By the end of the class you will have sample skeins of dyed yarn and inspiration for further exploration!

Learn to dye a silk chiffon scarf with rust in this beginner dyeing class. Let local fibre artist Maureen Ballagh show you the ins and outs of this unique fibre dyeing technique! Students will learn how to prepare their materials and set up their dyeing apparatus during the workshop. They will then take their dye bundle home for three days and let the dye work its way into the fabric. Once the process is complete, students will have a fabulous new scarf and a fantastic new conversation starter!

Mother's Day is tomorrow - time to finish up those giftie WIPS! Join us from 10:30 AM to 12 PM on Saturday, March 13 for a casual stitch-in! Bring your recent FO’s, your WIPs, and your latest stash additions for show and tell! Make some new stitchin’ buddies and get ready to dish about all things knitting and crochet! While this event is free, we ask that participants register ahead of time in order to reserve a seat. Please note, this is not a knitting or crochet class – beginner level classes can be found here!
