Description: Yes, you can weave. Welcome to the exciting world of the rigid heddle loom. A loom simple enough that during this 3-hour session you will be able to make your own unique woven scarf as well as learn the basics of weaving.

Beginner Spinning with Maggie
Description: This is an introduction to spinning wheels – the various types and how they
work. In this workshop you will learn the basics of wheel spinning: drafting, twist
insertion and diameter control.

Spinning - Beyond Beginner
Description: For those who can keep their wheel turning and can spin a reasonably
contunuous thread and are now ready to spin a more intentional yarn. Learn
about different wools as well as other fibres and different fibre preparations.
Learn different drafting techniques: woolen, worsted, short draw, long draw – and
everything in between.

Fibre Prep with Leslie
Description: Get ready to make your own yarn in this workshop. Learn the essentials of washing and preparing raw fleece. Learn how to use handcards and combs and how to deal with a variety of different kinds of wool.

Spinning - Plying Techniques
Description: Understand how the twist in singles impacts the final yarn and how correct plying
results in balanced yarns. As well, you will learn how different plying techniques
can be used to create unique yarns : cable yarns, navajo 3-ply yarns, mixed
diameter and mixed twist yarns

Spinning - Designer Yarns
Description: Beyond basic plying, learn how to put plies ( both hand spun and commercial )
together in more creative ways to produce fancy designer yarns. We will make
loopy boucle yarns, fuzzy cloud yarns, core yarns, eyelash yarns, beaded yarns
etc. This class is for intermediate/advanced spinners.

Intermediate Drop Spindle with Leslie
Description: Broaden your spinning skills, learn an assortment of drafting skills so you can create the kind of wool you like. Learn how to make wool with character as we experiment with ply and twist. To take this class you should be able to spin a continous yarn with a drop spindle.
