If you are considering this yarn for our Spring 2021 KAL, we recommend 1 skein for the Osaka-jo socks
  • 80% superwash blue-faced leicester wool, 20% nylon
  • 115 g / 425 yd skein
  • 28-32 stitches per 4" / 10 cm on 2.25 - 3.25 mm needles
  • hand wash in cool water, lay flat to dry

Featuring Bluefaced Leicester wool, Leo is a lofty fingering weight yarn ideal for strong and warm socks, sweaters, mitts, and other projects that call for a formidable yet cozy fibre. Owing to its long fibre staple length, BFL is known for its strength, sheen, and gentle halo. It is particularly well-suited for colour work projects because of its textured structure that holds stitches together well.

Hand-dyed with professional wash-fast acid dyes. Great care is taken to set dye colours and then wash/rinse the yarns until no dye bleeds, however there may be some colour in your water at first wash due to differences in water quality. Please be aware that photo colours may vary slightly from screen to screen.

If your yarn creation requires more than one skein of the same yarn, it is very important to alternate skeins every row to blend; the beauty of hand-dyed yarn is that no two skeins are exactly the same, even when dyed in the same batch.
