introduction to knitting: part 2
This is the next step after learning how to knit and purl in our first Introduction to Knitting class. If you do not know how to knit and purl, please take that class first.
Second in our series of beginner classes, Intro 2 builds on the basic skills learned in Intro 1. In this class, participants will be introduced to increasing and decreasing stitches, as well as casting on and knitting in the round. This class has two projects - a cotton washcloth and a cowl.
What you'll learn
This class teaches basic increases and decreases; casting on and working in the round; recognizing knit and purl stitches and "reading" your knitting.
This class requires you to know how to knit, purl, cast on and cast off. If you do not know how to do these things, please enrol in our Introduction to Knitting Part 1 class.
What to bring
You will need the 4.5mm bamboo single point needles from the Introduction to Knitting Part 1 class. A ball of cotton for the washcloth is included in the class fee; students will also need to purchase a pair of circular needles and yarn for the cowl project. Options for this will be presented in class. All patterns will be provided.
This class runs on Sunday morning from 10-12pm, October 2, 16, and 23. Please note that there is no class on Sunday, October 9.
