Intro to Knitting: Knit & Purl

This is a Zoom class that takes place over 2 days, for 2 hour sessions each (4 hours instructional time total).  You will be sent a link to connect to this class, so please ensure that we have your correct email address on checkout!

This class is for absolute beginners who want to learn how to knit, or if you've learned before and want a refresher of the basics. In this class we will cover casting on, casting off, and the knit stitch in the first session. In the second session we will learn the purl stitch and how to use both in the same row to make different textured fabrics.   We will also discuss how to hold your needles and yarn and how to read a pattern.  After taking this class you will be able to confidently begin new projects, do knits, purls and finish projects.

Required Skills: None -- absolute beginners are welcome!

The price of this class includes a knitting kit, which contains all the materials you will need for the class and to practice your new skills:  yarn to knit with, a great pair of bamboo needles, and a darning needle for weaving in the ends when you're finished!

The kit is available for local pickup at the shop, or can be mailed by Canada Post for our usual delivery fee.

Please note that online classes will not be refunded. Your class registration is like a movie ticket: You can give it to a friend if you can't attend, if it is rescheduled you will have the opportunity for your money back, and if you aren't in your seat once it starts, your ticket cannot be reimbursed. Please be sure to check your email and spam folders the day of the class to make sure that you have your link. If there are problems or you can't find your link, please contact us by email at least an hour before class is scheduled to start at so that we have time to help you.
