Beat second sock syndrome for good! Join us for an afternoon to learn the Magic Loop method for knitting two socks at once on the same set of needles. This technique is excellent for anything knit in pairs, from socks to mittens to sweater sleeves. This class is designed for knitters with experience in small-circumference knitting, either on double-pointed needles or small circulars, who are looking to build their skills and learn a new technique. You will go home with your project cast on and ready for you to finish at your own pace.
What you'll learn
Casting on top-down in the magic loop, as well as working in the round and flat sections like heel flaps.
Required skills
You have already knit a pair of socks before - we will not cover basic sock construction techniques. You should be comfortable with the long-tail cast on, knitting and purling in the round.
What to bring
We recommend a self-patterning sock yarn.Β If your chosen yarn comes as a single skein, you must re-wind the yarn into TWO separate balls before the class.
A 100cm long circular needle in size 2.5mm (or size required for your specific project).
Your preferred top-down sock pattern (we will provide a basic sock one if you prefer).
