Arriving For Class
Please be sure to bring any materials required for you class with you. If your class takes place outside of our regular operating hours, the store will be opened when the teacher arrives and is ready for you. If the weather is bad, please do not arrive very early for class if your session falls outside of our regular operating hours.
We do not have dedicated parking for the store, but side-street parking can be found along Wellington, and there is metered parking on Wellington St. W as well.
If you are taking OC Transpo, the number 11 bus route travels between Parliament Station and Tunney's Pasture Station right past the store.
If you need accessibility accommodations to get into the store, please let us know either on your class signup so we know to open the back door for you. Unfortunately, we do not have a ramp that can safely fit our main entrance.
Class Cancellations, Transfers, and Credits
When you register for a class, you are reserving a seat for that session. That seat may be used by you or by another person you choose, but it can only be used once.
Our cancellation and credit policy is designed to balance flexibility for students with fair compensation for our teachers and reliable scheduling for our classes.
Changing your registration to a different class date is treated as a cancellation and rebooking, and the seat reservation fee will apply unless done within 48 hours of registering for class.
Seat Transfers
If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your seat to another person before the class begins at no cost. Seats may be transferred as many times as needed before the first session starts.
Seats may not be split, shared, or transferred partway through a session. The person who attends the first session must attend all remaining sessions, and missed attendance is not eligible for refund or make-up classes.
Refunds and Credits
Within 48 hours of purchase: If you cancel within 48 hours of the time you registered (not 48 hours before the class), you will receive a full refund to your original method of payment.
After 48 hours of purchase and before the class begins: If you cancel after 48 hours but before the scheduled start time of the class, you will receive store credit for the class price minus a seat reservation fee, which will be deducted from your refund.
The seat reservation fee is:
- $15 for classes priced at $99 or less
- $25 for classes priced over $100
This fee allows us to ensure that teachers are fairly compensated for preparing and reserving teaching time.
After the class has begun: Once the first session of a class has started, instructional time is no longer refundable. If there is a separate materials fee associated with the class, that portion may still be refunded to store credit.
Store credit: Store credit does not expire and may be used toward any purchase.
Store-Initiated Cancellations
If we must cancel a class due to low enrollment, instructor illness, weather or other circumstances, you will receive a full refund to your original payment method or store credit at your choice, with no reservation fee.
Why this policy exists
Once a class begins, the reserved seat can no longer be filled, and the instructional time has been committed. This policy is intended to provide clear, predictable options when plans change, while ensuring that classes can be scheduled sustainably and teachers are paid fairly for their work.
