Cotton tops (combed sliver). Tops weight: about 20g/m. Tops length: about 5 metres per 100g. The quantities inside our packs will be sent as one continuous piece. Our cotton tops come from Egypt and are carefully selected to ensure constant quality over time. The dyeing complies with Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and is done in our dyeinghouse which is GOTS 5.0 and GRS certified. Our cotton tops are perfect for both needle and wet felting, spinning and hand weaving.

  • unmercerized cotton

    Cotton yarns that have been minimally processed can have a lovely hand and are very absorbent. Fabrics made from unmercerized yarns do absorb water quickly, but as a result, they become saturated more quickly. While unmercerized yarns are softer, they have less sheen than those that have undergone mercerization.

  • cotton

    Cotton is a plant fibre made from the cotton plant (surprise!). It is absorbent, soft, very easy to care for and a popular choice for garments and household items like washcloths and towels. As a plant fibre, however, it will not retain warmth very well, so is less ideal for warmer winter items.
