A first pair of socks is a rite of passage for many knitters - they are small, portable projects that can be as basic or as intricate as the knitter wants, and once you start wearing them, you'll know why they are so popular.  Join us for this class and work through your own first pair of socks.  We'll be using a multi-sized and multi-gauged pattern, so there is something to suit everyone.

These socks are knit from cuff to toe, with a heel flap and gussets.

What You'll Learn
In this class, you'll learn the techniques required to work through a basic pair of plain socks.

Required Skills
You must be able to cast on, knit and purl in the round.  You should be familiar with how to work small circumferences in the round using double pointed needles.

We have some yarn suggestions below.  If you use a fingering weight, please bring a set of 2.25mm double pointed needles.  If you choose a 6-ply sock yarn, please bring a set of 3.25mm needles.
