Introducing a special edition Peace Bar, honouring the beautiful country we call home - Silky milk chocolate complemented by a creamy (and patriotic!) maple filling. Weâve wrapped these bars with wraps featuring translations for some common âCanadianismsâ for anyone who might need a tutorial!
Like much of our homeland, in late 2012 the original Hadhad family chocolate factory in Damascus, Syria was destroyed in a bombing that forced our family to leave everything behind and flee. When our family was invited to Canada, our dreams came true. With the support of our new community of Antigonish and the people of Nova Scotia, we have rebuilt our chocolate company and are once again doing the work we love.
Since Peace By Chocolate was founded at the beginning of 2016, we have been fortunate to share our passion for chocolate with new friends in our community of Antigonish, with people all across the province of Nova Scotia, and now around the world.
đ about wabi sabi đ
We are a proudly Canadian, independently-owned, women-run local yarn store based in Ottawa, Ontario. Our focus is on natural fibres and yarns, and we love to help promote and support Canadian producers and makers. Most of our products are of Canadian and European origin, and we do our best to work with distributors at home and abroad to find products that are of excellent quality while also being affordable, sustainable, and responsibly produced.
'wabi sabi'Â is a Japanese aesthetic term which focusses on recognizing and embracing the beauty of the unfinished, the imperfect and the impermanent. There is no English synonym, and we use it with respect for its roots.
