Vovó (Portuguese for Grandma) is a versatile and hard wearing non-superwash yarn made entirely from fine Portuguese wool, mainly from Campaniça sheep. It is a great choice for sweaters and cardigans intended for daily wear.
Vovó is made from the wool of free range sheep. Mulesing is not practised in Portugal.
Grown, scoured, milled and dyed in Portugal.

Vovó is a true jack-of-all-trades, and will give great results with the following stitch patterns: stranded colourwork, simple constructions, textured stitches, cables, non-stranded colourwork, brioche, and lace.
How do I make a basic gauge swatch for this yarn?
Using 3.50 mm (US 4) - 4.50 mm (US 7) needles (or whatever your pattern recommends), cast on 10 stitches. Knit 6 rows. Repeat the following 2 rows until the work measures 3":
- knit 3, purl to the last 3 stitches, knit 3
- knit all stitches
Knit 6 more rows and cast off. Wash and block using the same method you will use for the finished item. Measure and count your gauge across the middle stitches of the swatch.
