Sarasota Solids is the perfect combination of cotton and acrylic!  It is incredibly soft and versatile, and a great substitute for projects where wool isn't the best choice.

If you're after a great yarn to make hats for donating to hospital maternity units, this is the yarn you're looking for!  The Ottawa Hospital has a pattern for a hat that is knit flat here.   This yarn goes far!  One ball made 6 knit newborn hats.

    Cotton is a plant fibre made from the cotton plant (surprise!). It is absorbent, soft, very easy to care for and a popular choice for garments and household items like washcloths and towels. As a plant fibre, however, it will not retain warmth very well, so is less ideal for warmer winter items.
