Tukuwool Sock is a unique Finnish sock yarn, spun and dyed in Finland with 100% Finnish Wool (Finnsheep and Finnsheep-Texel cross) and biodegradable polyamide for durability. Woolen-spun and non-superwash, it creates warm, comfortable socks with a soft, natural hand feel. The three-ply construction is lightly twisted for a lively, enjoyable knitting experience. Each 100 g skein (320 m) is enough for an adult pair of socks using 2.5–3 mm needles (26–28 sts/10 cm). Sport weight and versatile, it works for a variety of knitted textures. Handwash recommended.

rooted in tradition and rich with character

Tukuwool sock is a yarn that we would categorize as a storyteller. The Storyteller carries the echoes of older traditions. These yarns come from heritage fibres, time-honoured spinning methods, and colour palettes shaped by generations of makers. Working with them connects today’s projects to the long, shared history of textile craft.

Storytellers are often a little rustic by nature. They may feel more “sheepy” than modern processed yarns and can be better suited to outerwear or layered garments if you have sensitive skin. Give them the care they deserve: swatch thoughtfully and follow laundering instructions.
