Kidsilk Haze is one of the most recognized names in yarn, and the reputation is earned. Rowan's 70% kid mohair and 30% silk laceweight has been a staple of the knitting world for decades, valued for its extraordinary softness, cloud-like halo, and a colour range that remains one of the finest available. Typically held alongside a base yarn to add warmth and halo, it can also be worked alone for very delicate, gossamer fabric. The silk content keeps it softer than most mohair blends and adds a subtle luminosity. As with all mohair halo yarns, it's difficult to frog: plan carefully. A genuine luxury.
bold, dramatic, and happiest in the spotlight
Kidsilk haze is a yarn that we would categorize as a diva. Some yarns are happy to support the pattern. This one prefers to be the star. Diva yarns bring luxurious fibres, bold colours, and textures that practically demand attention: perfect when you want your project to make an entrance.
Divas shine brightest when they’re given room to perform. Simple stitches and minimal colourwork let their character take the spotlight. They can handle more complicated patterns but rarely need them. Swatch carefully and follow laundering instructions to keep your star in top form.

How should I care for this yarn?
What is this yarn suitable for?
What yarn weight is this?
What needle size works best for this yarn?
Which knitting stitch patterns work best with this yarn?
How do I make a basic gauge swatch for this yarn?
Using 3.25 mm (US 3) - 5.00 mm (US 8) needles (or whatever your pattern recommends), cast on 10 stitches. Knit 6 rows. Repeat the following 2 rows until the work measures 3":
- knit 3, purl to the last 3 stitches, knit 3
- knit all stitches
Knit 6 more rows and cast off. Wash and block using the same method you will use for the finished item. Measure and count your gauge across the middle stitches of the swatch.
