Marla is spun from two separately hand-dyed plies that are twisted together, creating a depth and complexity of colour that solid or single-ply yarns can't replicate: as you knit, the two plies interact to produce shifting tones and subtle variation that gives finished fabric real visual interest. The base is 100% superwash merino, so it's as soft as it looks, and machine washable. A good choice when you want colour that does something interesting without committing to a heavily variegated yarn.
